Does canned food have colorings and/or preservatives?
Our canned food does not have any colorings or preservatives as every single product goes through a controlled thermal processing that removes any type of microorganisms that may be present.

Is it necessary to cook the products before consuming them?
It is not necessary to cook them. Our products are ready to consume.

How long can I keep sealed cans in the cupboard before consuming them?
INALPA canned food has a shelf life of three years as of its manufacturing date.

Where can I check the expiration or manufacturing date?
This information can be seen on the lid or at the bottom of the can. It includes the expiration date, the product internal code, the batch number and the canning time.

What can I do with the product if I opened it but did not consume it entirely?
Once opened, the product must be kept in the fridge, in another food-safe container for no longer than three days.

Is it necessary to drain and wash the canned legumes once they are opened?
No, it is not necessary since the cans only have legumes, water and/or salt. In addition, the liquid has some nutrients, such as water-soluble vitamins and minerals from the food that has been cooked in it. But if you want to reduce the amount of sodium, you can wash them.

What materials are the cans made of?
They are made of tinplate (iron-steel) with a tin coating. That is why they are 100% recyclable, which means that its raw materials can be reused as many times as they are disposed of. This serves the purpose of manufacturing cans again or it may also be useful for other industries such as construction, automobile, home appliances, electronics, decoration, and more.

Does the can have any internal coating?
Yes, it is coated with food-grade lacquers.

What does the phrase “IT MAY CONTAIN…” mean in the ingredients list?
Allergens that may be present due to unavoidable cross contamination (*) are reported through the inscription “IT MAY CONTAIN…” followed by the name of the allergen.

(*) “Unavoidable cross contamination” occurs when, even if the Manufacturing Best Practices are applied, it is not possible to avoid the contamination; therefore, there is presence of the allergenic ingredient in the product in small amounts (traces).

Does the INALPA VIDA line of products contain sodium?
INALPA VIDA products contain the sodium naturally present in the food itself.
